SAN SIMON, Pampanga — Mayoralty candidate Leonora C. Wong assured the business community here of a “business-friendly” atmosphere and ease of doing business during a roundtable discussion with top businessmen held recently in Clark Freeport.

Wong, who currently leads in multiple polls conducted recently, at the same time reiterated her commitment to provide necessary and basic services specifically addressing the concerns of various firms operating along and within the San Simon industrial zone along Quezon road.

Telecommunications, particularly internet and landline connectivity and road maintenance, were among the primary concerns raised by investors during the meeting.

During the well-attended dialog, Wong assured the business group that addressing all these concerns will be her priority programs to help ease the burdens of business operators.

Former Governor and vice gubernatorial candidate Lilia Pineda, who attended the luncheon meeting, meanwhile assured the business groups of her support to Wong’s programs of government more specifically in eliminating any undue harassment of the local governments not only in San Simon but for the entire Pampanga province.

“Foreign and even local investors are drivers of our economy. We have to extend utmost service to help them improve their business and not become a burden for them,” Pineda stated.

“If any of you encounter any harassment or undue treatment from local governments in Pampanga, my office will be more than willing to assist you and even prosecute those local leaders who will either extort from you and/or harass you”, Pineda stressed.

On her part, Wong assured the business community of unobstructed operations for business operators, as she set herself to become a true partner and ally in progress of the business community of San Simon.

“Business and investors provide not only a steady flow of income for the municipal government but more so in providing local employment and increased economic activity in any locality. And this is the principal reason why I always make sure that they operate their respective trade and commerce without any obstruction whatsoever,” Wong said

During Wong’s three-term incumbency as Mayor of San Simon, she garnered multiple awards in the field of Public Governance specifically in providing efficiency and ease of doing business with the private sector and investors.
