CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — A total of 15 job applicants, among the 103 hopefuls, were hired on-the-spot during a job recruitment activity at the Benigno Aquino Hall, Capitol compound here the other day.

The job fair was a partnership between the Pampanga Public Employment Service Office (PESO) and iQor Philippines.

Among the jobseekers who flocked to the venue, 38 are still in process for final interview.

“Masaya na may mga lumalapit na opportunity sa amin kasi ako sa Masantol pa ako, bandang dagat iyon, walang masyadong opportunity doon. Minsan pumupunta pa kami sa ibang city and minsan sa Manila, pero dahil sa programa ni Gov at iQor, abot-kamay na namin ang oportunidad,” said Vincent Lacap, one of the applicants.

The activity was in line with the 12-point development agenda of Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda to ensure that appropriate training and employment opportunities will be given to the labor force.

According to Pampanga PESO Manager Luningning Vergara, the provincial government has been partnering with iQor Philippines in providing a link between jobseekers and companies with job vacancies for many years now.

“Throughout the years, iQor and the local government of Pampanga have had a good relationship. This is not only about the company itself, but we are also considering the needs of the community and the recovery of the economy after the pandemic,” said Christopher Cañero, iQor recruitment coordinator.

The job fair offered around 800 job openings for customer service representatives (CSR), support, and leadership positions such as supervisors, managers, and, operations managers.

Applicants are required to have at least finished high school and possess good communication skills.
