Drug trafficker killed in Bulacan shootout

BULACAN – A drug pusher was killed while three of his cohorts were arrested in a buy-bust that turned into a shootout in Bulacan on Friday.

In a report to Police Regional office 3 Director Brig. Gen. Matthew Baccay, Elements of the PIU, Bulacan PDEA led by Maj. Jason Quijana under the supervision of Lt. Col. Jesus Manalo Jr., together with Marilao police  SOU3-PDEG conducted an entrapment on Rick Monzon; Kenneth Tiozon, 19, helper; John Michael Macaraig, 25; and Katherine Pardorla, 29, all of Looban 1st, Brgy. Loma De Gato, Marilao.

However, Monzon sensed the presence of police and pulled out a gun and fired shots at the poseur, prompting the backup cops to retaliate and killing the suspect on the spot.

His three cohorts were arrested while found in the area were one .9mm pistol, four plastic sachets containing shabu, six fired cartridge cases of .9mm, one deformed slug of .9mm bullets and the marked money.

“’The Central Luzon police will continue to launch operations to wipe out the proliferation of illegal drugs in the region,” Baccay said.
