19 illegal gamblers nabbed in Pampanga, Bulacan

CAMP OLIVAS — At least 19 persons were arrested by authorities, while several illegal gambling paraphernalia including bet money were seized during a two-day separate anti-gambling operation conducted region-wide on July 29 and July 30.

Angeles City police conducted an operation in Sitio Pader, Bgy. Pulung Maragul which resulted to the arrest of three individuals engaged in cara y cruz and confiscation of P462 bet money.

Ten persons engaged in cara y cruz and Lucky 9 were arrested by the Bulacan police in Bgy. Minuyan Proper, City of San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan and Marcelo Compound Tibagan in Bgy. Sta. Rosa 2, Marilao, Bulacan. 

At least P1,100 bet money was seized from the suspects.

In Pampanga, police operatives of Porac MPS conducted anti-illegal gambling operation at Brgy. Pulung Santol, Porac, which resulted to the arrest of three individuals playing winner-take-all and confiscation of P2,230 bet money.

Three persons were caught playing tong-its by elements of the Camiling police in Bgy. Bilad Camiling, Tarlac.

Seized from them were playing cards and P325 bet money. Charges for violation of PD 1602 as amended by RA 9287 is being prepared against the suspects.

“PRO3 continues to launch operations against illegal gambling and strictly imposes the full force of the law as it steps up on its campaign against all forms of lawlessness to minimize criminality in every locality,” said PRO3 director Brig. Gen. Matthew Baccay.
