CAMP OLIVAS – Two police officers were among the 10 suspects arrested on Monday by operatives of the Nueva Ecija Police Provincial Office in an alleged carnap and robbery incident in Quezon City, according to Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Matthew Baccay.
Baccay cited the report of Nueva Ecija police acting director Col. Jess Mendez that on April 24, joint personnel conducted a hot pursuit operation in Barangay Marcos Village, Palayan City after a reported robbery and carnapping incident in Barangay Sto. Domingo, Quezon City.
Victims were Chinese nationals Yancheng Lu, Shanxin Ja and Ronald Guanzon. The suspects allegedly took the victims’ gray Chevrolet Captiva.
During the hot pursuit operation conducted by DTEU-QCPD, PIU-NEPPO, PPDEU, 7MIB 7ID PA, RID/RDEU NCRPO, PHPT Nueva Ecija, 1st and 2nd PMFC, Palayan CPS, CIDG PFU Nueva Ecija and the Sta. Rosa police, seven men were arrested while the stolen vehicle was seized including several firearms, ammunition, hand grenades and cellular phones.
Upon arrest, the suspects identified their three other cohorts which resulted in their arrest last Monday in Barangay San Juan North, Cabiao Nueva Ecija.
Two among the three suspects are members of Cabiao police and were taken to Quezon City Police District.
“We did not fall short in our warnings and memo directives reminding all PNP personnel to never engage in illegal activities. This will serve as a stern warning to all PNP personnel and we will continue to weed out hoodlums and punish the undisciplined among our ranks,” Baccay said.
