MABALACAT CITY – City police acting chief Lt. Col. Abraham Abayari reported the arrest of two riding in tandem suspects who exchanged gunfire with his men on MacArthur Highway in Balibago, Angeles City.
Abayari said police officers were approaching the two suspects on a motorcycle, identified as Rodel Tubo, 32, of Sta. Ana, San Pablo, Laguna; and Elmario David, 42, of Bgy. Cutcut, Angeles City, both members of “Balyeho” crime group, in front of Chain Wheel Bike Shop on McArthur Highway.
However, one of the suspects pulled out a gun and fired at the approaching cops but missed, prompting the cops to fire back, hitting the suspects.
The suspects were rushed to the RLMMC for medical treatment.
Seized from the two suspects was a loaded .9mm pistol.
Abayari vowed to step up anti-crime drive against lawless elements to ensure public safety, peace and order in the city.
