CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – A public opinion survey conducted by Probe Data Processing and Research Services showed that Gov. Dennis ‘Delta’ Pineda continues to lead the gubernatorial race at 74.9 percent while his lone rival Danilo Baylon is trailing at 17.1 percent.
The survey, conducted among 800 voters, included 3.9 percent who were undecided and 4.1 percent with no choices at the time that the survey was held last March.
The survey was done face-to-face, using door-to-door interviews with a structured questionnaire via tablet assisted personal interview (TAPI). Its margin of error was reported at +/- 3.47 percent with 95 percent confidence level.
The satisfaction rating for the re-electionist governor reached 88.1 percent while his mother Vice Governor Lilia Pineda totalled 86.6 percent.
A separate survey conducted by Argus Polls Inc. showed Pineda to be the preferred candidate by 78 percent or 19,705 of 25,206 voters polled last March. Only 5,502 voters or 22 percent chose Baylon.
Pineda has campaigned on the strength of his administration’s accomplishments since serving his first term in 2019 following a landslide win.
Several sectors hailed his calm and effective leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic. He also reaped praises and awards for his administration’s success in increasing local revenues, with collections of taxes and fees on Mt. Pinatubo’s sand and gravel reaching P1.8 billion in 20 months.
