3 persons, Chinese national nabbed for illegal drugs

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga – Police on Wednesday arrested three notorious drug pushers after some Php1.2 million worth of suspected shabu was seized from them by police operatives during an anti-illegal drugs operation in Baliwag, Bulacan.

Brigadier General Jose S. Hidalgo Jr., Police Regional Director 3 director, identified the suspects as Elmer Groyon, 59, Aries Inovero, 42 and Marlon Paguiligan, 44.

Hidalgo said the suspects were classified by Philippine Drug Enforcemenr Agency as “high value targets” who are reportedly members of a notorious illegal drug group operating in Central Luzon and Metro Manila.

The suspects did not resist arrest during during a buy bust operation launched by members of Baliwag drug enforcement unit in Barangay Tangos at around 9 AM on Wednesday.

Seized from the suspects were eight pieces of medium-sized heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets and five large pieces of knot-tied ice bags containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu with an estimated weight of 180 grams worth Php1,224,000.

Police also seized from the suspects some Php5,000 in buy- bust money including a white Toyota Vios sedan used by the group in their iilegal drugs operation.

The suspects are now detained at the Baliwag district jail after violation of Section 5, 11 and 26 of Article II of RA 9165 were filed in court  against them.

In a related development, a Chinese national listed by Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency as a high value target against illegal drug was arrested in an entrapment operation on Tuesday in Angeles City.

Hidalgo identified the suspect Lou Chuan alias Liu Yang, 32, male, single and a temporary resident of Clark Korean Community, Clark Hills, Clark Freeport Zone, Mabalacat City, Pampanga. 

According to Hidalgo, the suspect was arrested in a drug bust operation conducted by operatives from Angeles City police station 5 led by Captain Joshua A. Vistro at around 12:30 AM at the Clark-Sapangbato Gate in Barangay Sapangbato, Angeles City.

Police seized from the suspect a thousand peso bill along with nine pieces of boodle money used in the buy-bust against him.

Also confiscated from the Chinese national were a heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu, three medium heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu and two pieces of small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing 19 pieces of small red tablets suspected to be YABA pills (caffeine and methamphetamine-induced drug) with a combined weight of 100 grams and street value of Php680,000.

The suspect’s brown BMW sedan car (TJO 213) was also seized by the police during the operation.

“We have been monitoring the illegal drug operation of the suspect after confirming reports of illegal activities inside the Clark Freeport,” Hidalgo said.

The suspect is now detained at the Angeles City Distric Jail after charges of illegal drugs were filed against him in court.
