CRK now connected to 20 destinations; cites increase in passengers

An executive from the Luzon International Premier Airport Development (LIPAD) Corp. has confirmed that the Clark International Airport is now connected to 20 domestic and international destinations.

LIPAD Corporate Communications Officer Teri Flores said this during Pampanga Press Club’s media forum held at the Plaza Premium Lounge located inside CRK’s international departure area.

Flores said passengers at CRK are continuously climbing, with a 220 percent increase as of June 2023 compared to same month last year.

With them are Marion Satumbaga, Country Commercial Manager of Plaza Premium (seated, 2nd from R), and Mike Albaña, SMX Convention Center VP General Manager.

A total of 77,033 passengers were recorded for domestic, which is equivalent to a 603 percent hike, while 134,109 international passengers were recorded for the 1st half of the year, a 143 percent hike compared to June 2022’s figures.

For flights, CRK has a total of 1,483 with 594 for domestic and 889 international as of June 2023. In June 2022, the flights were pegged at 410, with 93 domestic and 317 international.

Flores said Clark is now connected to 20 destinations — ten domestic and 10 international.

Among the 20 destinations are Busuanga, El Nido, Puerto Princesa, Caticlan, Iloilo, Bacolod, Cebu, Cagayan De Oro, General Santos and Davao for domestic; and Doha, Dubai, Singapore, Bangkok, Macau, Taipei, Hongkong, Incheon, Busan, and Narita for international.

As this developed, SMX Convention Center Vice President Michael Jay Albaña said with the upcoming MICE conference 2024, Clark has the right formula in terms of accessibility and accommodation.

Albaña elaborated that Clark is right to become a MICECon gateway due to its unique selling points and its destination having a world-class airport and a Plaza Premium Lounge.

Clark International Airport, among the three aviation complexes that has a Plaza Premium Lounge, offers comfortable and relaxing amenities for travelers. It provides a range of services such as comfortable seating, complimentary food and beverages, free Wi-Fi, newspapers, and magazines.

The lounge, according to Plaza Premium Group Commercial Manager Marion Satumbaga, is open to all passengers, regardless of airline or ticket class, allowing them to unwind and refresh before their flight. It’s an ideal place to wait for flights, especially during layovers, providing a calm atmosphere away from the busy terminal.

Plaza Premium Lounge Clark opened last November 2022.
