ANGELES CITY — The city government officially opened a three-day trade fair featuring organic products from this city and other towns and cities all over Pampanga.
Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. said the trade fair is being conducted in coordination with the Department of Agriculture – Pampanga Office and the Department of Trade and Industry – Pampanga.
Dubbed “Mayap a Pupul”, the trade fair officially opened on Thursday, November 24, and will run until November 26, 2022, from 8AM to 8PM at the Plaza Anghel, Museo Ning Angeles.
Lazatin is encouraging everyone to visit the trade fair and show support to the farmers.
“Ito po ay makakatulong ng malaki sa ating mga kababayan magsasaka, hindi lamang sa kanilang income. Suportahan po natin ang ating mga magsasaka at patuloy po nating tangkilikin ang kanilang mga ani,” Lazatin said.
Chief Adviser IC Calaguas and Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel will manage the trade fair with Angeles City Economic Development and Investment Promotion Office headed by Irish Bonus-Llego.
Angeles City Vice Mayor Vicenta “Vicky” Vega-Cabigting led the opening ceremony of the trade fair.
DA Regional OAP Alternate Focal Person Marie Joy Daguro, Provincial OAP Focal Person Rowena G. Kassem, ph. D., DTI Pampanga Consumer Protection Division Chief Nathaniel Samson, and Barangay Sto. Rosario Captain Rey Cosme, also attended the trade fair opening.
This year’s theme “Maunlad na Pagsasaka, Garantisado sa Organikong Agrikulturang Sinaliksik” aims to promote organic agriculture by focusing on its importance in enhancing global competitiveness and environmental integrity, increasing food security and safety, and alleviating poverty.
