Budding leader in Dau going viral with contributions

DAU, MABALACAT CITY – A civic-spirited woman has gone viral with posts on her contributions to this biggest and highly-commercialized barangay.

Maricel C. Rodriguez, also known by her “MCR” tag, is widely regarded for her rounds of outreaches from sports, medical assistance, feeding program, school improvements and even sectoral visits – the latest of which is the relief distribution for residents affected by Super Typhoon “Karding”.

MCR, on Tuesday or a day after “Karding” wreaked havoc, went out to distribute grocery items and relief goods in some depressed areas of Dau. She went out also for some inspiring talks with the urban poor and slum dwellers.

A total of 120 relief bags consisting of rice, noodles, canned goods, milk and candies were prepared for Tuesday’s handouts.  Another batch of distribution is also set this week.

“It has always been my advocacy to provide timely and relevant assistance, no matter how simple it is, to those who are in need especially during challenging times. And it elates my heart seeing genuine smiles from every person na natutulungan natin,” Rodriguez said.

The effort reaped praises from netizens. They vary from noting prompt action, kindness of MCR to expressing hope to emulate her actions.
