The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) also highlighted during the activity its plans together with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), and the provincial government to preserve the industry of sampaguita farming in Pampanga, citing that it can help improve the quality of the flower being produced and commercialize it to a larger market.

According to OPA, around 11 hectares of land in several barangays of Lubao still produce sampaguita flowers.
