CDC celebrates Women’s Month

#WEcanbeEquALL. Clark Development Corporation (CDC) President and CEO Atty. Agnes VST Devanadera led the celebration of National Women’s Month in Clark Freeport Zone.

CLARK FREEPORT – Clark Development Corporation (CDC) President and CEO Atty. Agnes VST Devanadera underscored the roles played by women in society and how they have evolved over time, highlighting the importance of women empowerment.

“Women right now are working and are usually career women. So, for us who are career-driven, let us always remember our values, customs, and traditions. And that no matter how far we have gone in our career, when we get home we are always equal,” she said in her speech during the kick off of the the National Women’s Month celebration in this Freeport.

CDC led the said celebration which was also organized by the CDC Gender and Development – Focal Point System (GAD-FPS).

Meanwhile, CDC-GADFPS also shared the line-up of activities for the Women’s Month celebration. These include an art exhibit titled ‘Hidden Talents: Exposed’ which will feature the various artworks of CDC women employees. The exhibit is slated to be launched on March 20, 2023, at the Clark Museum. Webinars on women empowerment, gender equality, as well as cyber security will also be conducted. 

In an interview with Clark in Action, a public affairs radio program of CDC, GAD FPS Chairperson Sarah Lerum shared that the state-owned corporation is very active in promoting gender mainstreaming and equal opportunity in the workplace. 

“Ang pinaguusapan talaga natin ngayon is not just about promoting women’s rights and opportunity but equal opportunity for everyone. Be it a man or a woman, or a member of the LGBTQ+ community, we should have equal opportunity, promote and be an advocate of equality and inclusive society,” she added. 

With this year’s theme “WE for gender equality and inclusive society,” the celebration of National Women’s Month aims to promote women’s empowerment, social transformation, gender equality, and inclusivity among others.
