Lazatin to distribute school gears, supplies to Angeleño students

ANGELES CITY—The city government here is preparing to distribute more than 100,000 sets of school gears and supplies to all students from 55 public schools — kindergarten to Grade 12 — and 72 day care centers here.

Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. said each public school student will receive a backpack with a complete set of school supplies including notebooks, pens, and school shirts paired with a set of shoes and socks, ready to be used for the upcoming school year.

Mayor Lazatin also accounted for some 2,500 day care students, who will additionally receive textbooks, crayons and coloring pads aside from the mentioned set of school items.

“Mananatili pong edukasyon ng mga batang Angeleño ang priority ng ating administrasyon,” Mayor Lazatin said.

Distribution of the school items to public schools and day care centers will follow suit once they are properly arranged and stacked by sets, and will be personally distributed by Mayor Lazatin.

“Iikot po tayo sa lahat ng public schools at day care centers sa buong siyudad para ipamahagi ang mga ito sa mga estudyante,” Mayor Lazatin added.

As of August 17, 2023, the Department of Education (DepEd) Schools Division of Angeles City reported a total of 66,842 enrollees from grades 1 to 12, which is still expected rise liberally before the school year opens.

DepEd Angeles City Schools Division Superintendent (SDS) Ronaldo Pozon, expressed his gratitude to Mayor Lazatin for always putting in to priority the needs of the education sector in the city.

“Mayor Lazatin will always graciously provide fourfold of the support which we and the educators of Angeles City ask of him, and we are always grateful for his leadership,” Dr. Pozon said.

To recall, Mayor Lazatin started to distribute full sets of school supplies and gears to Angeleño students in 2022 to make the process of learning conducive and elevate the quality of education in Angeles City.

This initiative of Mayor Lazatin also received positive feedback from Angeleno students, teachers and parents.
