Mabalacat City bags multiple awards in Gawad Parangal sa Nutrisyon 2022

MABALACAT CITY — This city government has bagged multiple plaques of recognition during the Gitnang Luzon Gawad Parangal sa Nutrisyon 2022 held February 8 at SACOP in the City of San Fernando.

Among these awards are the Nutrition Honor Award and the Most Visible Local Government Unit in Social Media and Contender for Nutrition Honor Award (NHA).

NHA is the highest and most prestigious award given by the National Nutrition Council (NNC) for local government units who have been a Consistent Regional Outstanding Winner in Nutrition (CROWN) awardee for three consecutive years.

Mabalacat City Nutrition Action Officer Joronny Gladys Lingat, who also received the Most Outstanding Nutrition Action Officer award, thanked the NNC for recognizing the efforts of the city to extend its services and ensure that each Mabalaquenian receives proper nutritional interventions.

Mabalacat City Mayor Crisostomo Garbo congratulated the City Nutrition Office and other awardees for receiving their respective plaques of recognition, and reminded the LGU employees to keep up the good work in the service to their fellowmen.

Patunay lamang itong mga parangal na natatanggap natin na lahat ng ating mga ginagawa na iniisip nating makakaganda at makakabuti para sa ating mga kababayan at para sa lungsod ng Mabalacat ay napapansin ng mga various agencies of our national government. Kaya ipagpatuloy natin ang magandang gawain,” Garbo said.

Other awards bagged by the city include the following:
* 2021 Regional Outstanding Barangay Nutrition Scholar Contender award to Lucille M. Lacson, from Barangay Bundagul
* Plaques of Appreciation to Hannah Camille Pasamonte, City Nutrition Program Coordinator and to Lingat for their active participation and dedication in the creation of 2021 Monitoring and Evaluation of Local Level Plan Implementation (MELLPI) Pro in Central Luzon
* Plaques of completion to Nutrition Scholars Lacson (Bundagul), Robina Salunga (Sta. Maria), Irene Valerio (Sta. Maria), Mercedes Orfalas (Mabiga) and Preja Dungca (Marcos Village) for finishing a course on Nutrition-School-On-the-Air for Every Juan and Juan which was aired on Archdioses of San Fernando Radio Station 91.9 Bright FM from Oct 28 to Dec. 23, 2022.

Mabalacat City has been a consistent CROWN awardee and is known for its extensive nutrition programs such as Bangon Nutrisyon Project, which aims to help the poorest families through the provision of nutritious food package, livelihood training, job placements, Nutrition and health assessment services as well as micronutrient supplementation and family planning counseling.
