MAGALANG, Pampanga – This municipality led by Mayor Maria Lourdes “Malu” Paras Lacson recently relaunched its Business Permit and Licensing Office (BPLO), allowing residents to conveniently apply for business permits.

At the same time, they will be able to pay their taxes through GCash.

Earlier, the municipal government partnered with G-Xchange Incorporation for payment of business tax through the widely used mobile wallet GCash.

BPLO head Ryan Miranda, municipal treasurer Raissa Bayani and Councilor Norman Lacson, who represented Mayor Lacson, graced the relaunching of the BPLO at the municipal hall compound.

Bayani disclosed that residents can apply for business permits through online. The project, she added, is aided by the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT).

“People don’t have to go to the municipal hall to apply for business permits and when paying for them considering there is still a threat of the Covid-19 pandemic,” said Bayani.

Bayani said they are targeting to collect P40 million from business tax in 2023. She added that “taxes are the lifeblood of the delivery of services to people that’s why it is necessary to collect efficiently.”

Miranda said that business permits will be available “one to two days after applying.”

He said “one of the priorities of Mayor Lacson is the quick and efficient delivery of services to their constituents.”
