Expressing elation on the highly successful return of a historic sports event, business mogul Manny V. Panglinan has hinted on the future staging of the Tour of Luzon (TOL).
In his post on X (formerly Twitter), Pangilinan, chairman of Metro Pacific Investments Corp., described the revived cycling event as “thrilling, exciting”.
He also congratulated the winners, “riders, esp Jan Paul Morales, Joshua Pascual, Joseph Javiniar, and
of course the champion Joo Dae Young.”
Panglilinan also hinted on a bigger staging of the TOL that was revived with only two months of preparation by MPIC subsidiary Metro Pacific Tollways Corp.
“More success in 2026! Here’s to a future Tour de France rider!” he added in the tweet.

Patrick Gregorio, president of Duckworld PH, said that “MVP has always wished for a Filipino or a Philippine team to participate in Tour De France”.
He congratulated MPTC for the success of the 8-stage, 1,050-kilometer race that started in Ilocos Norte going down to other norhern Luzon provinces then Clark in Pampanga then snaked back to Baguio City via the bike-treacherous Kennon Road.
With TOL’s success, sports afficionados and columnists have given credit to Gregorio and MPTC Chief Regulatory Officer Arrey Perez, lead organizers of the historic spotting event.
