P408-M shabu seized in Mexico

CAMP OLIVAS — More than P400 million worth of shabu were confiscated by authorities Wednesday afternoon along the Mexico portion of the NLEX.

PRO3 Regional Director PBGen Cesar R. Pasiwrn said joint operatives of SOU NCR and IFLD PNPDEG together with Pampanga PPO and PDEA NCR conducted anti-illegal drug operations at The Lakeshore which resulted to the arrest of Wenjie Chen aka HARRY, 45, of Brgy San Antonio, Gerona,Tarlac; and Sy Yan Qing, 42, of Banawe St., Sto Domingo, Angeles City.

Seized from the duo were 5 pieces of vacuum sealed plastic Chinese tea bags with estimated weight of 5 kilograms containing  shabu with a street value of P34 million; 55 pieces of vacuum sealed plastic Chinese tea bags weighing 55 kilograms containing shabu with a street value of P374 million; 5 pieces of P1,000 marked money; 1 cellular phone; and assorted Identification Cards and documents.

Further investigation revealed that the duo are cohorts of subjects listed under COPLAN APOCALYPTO who are notorious in peddling volumes of illegal drugs in the areas of Metro Manila, Regions 3, and 4A.

“The series of accomplishments highlight the government’s stiff anti-illegal drug campaign and all police units are working closely together to eliminate drugs in the country and we are continuously strengthening our intelligence operations focusing on the source of illegal drugs to arrest and put them behind bars,” PBGen Pasiwen also said.
