CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — A poem expressing admiration, respect, and gratitude to COVID-19 response frontliners was rendered into an audio-visual presentation by the City Government here to give tribute to the “heroes” of the pandemic.

The 14-stanza Filipino poem titled “Duty” was written by Maricar Magtoto Lising, a personnel of the Local Government of Municipality of Mexico.

The literary tribute was held at the CSF Kalingang Fernandino Isolation Facility (CSFKFIF) in San Isidro and was led by Mayor Edwin “EdSa” Santiago, along with City Government department heads and representatives from the Council of Human Resource Management Practitioners (CHRMPs) of Pampanga local government units and national government agencies.

Santiago, who recently recovered from COVID-19 after weeks of isolation, said the poem was timely written as the country still observes the Civil Service Month that honors civil servants.

A copy of the poem was formally handed to the personnel manning the isolation facility and was presented digitally through a Facebook post. (See link: https://www.facebook.com/CSFP.CIO/videos/394034559035431)

Aside from the tribute, members of the CHRMPs-national government agencies in the province also handed cash donations to the CSFKFIF amounting to P17,500.

The Civil Service Month or the Philippine Civil Service Anniversary is held every September.

The City Government of San Fernando featured different activities for the said celebration this year, including the presentation of bite-sized learning series, mental wellness and stress de-briefing session. It is set to conduct the “Natatanging Lingkod Bayani” and “Pasasalamat para sa mga Kawaning Fernandinong RumesBAKUNA” awarding rites.
