MASANTOL, PAMPANGA — A 63-year-old man on Sunday was arrested for claiming some P345,000 worth of imported shabu in an entrapment operation in this town.

The PDEA said Abner Bautista, a resident of Barangay Sta. Lucia, Masantol, was arrested for claiming a package containing the  imported drugs on National Road in Sta. Lucia Matua, Masantol.

The PDEA said the package emanated from California, USA and arrived at the Port of Clark on February 18.

“The package containing illegal drugs was initially tagged as suspicious by the X-ray inspector. K-9 sniffing and field testing using Rigaku Rogeny were conducted that led to the discovery and confirmation of its illegal contents,” the PDEA said.

Confiscated from Bautista were at least 50 grams of shabu worth P345,000, a senior citizen ID and a cellular phone.

The operation was conducted jointly by operatives led by PDEA Central Luzon, Clark Inter-Agency Task Group, Bureau of Customs (BOC) Port of Clark and Masantol police.
