As the corporate social good arm of SM group, SM Foundation (SMFI) awarded scholarship grants to more than 300 college freshmen for SY 2022-2023 last August 27.
For this school year, the total scholars per province in Central Luzon are as follows: 25 from Tarlac, 15 from Cabanatuan, 56 from Pampanga, and 21 from Olongapo/Zambales.
The college scholars will receive full tuition fee assistance, miscellaneous fees subsidy, monthly allowance, enrichment activities and job opportunities during Christmas and semestral breaks. Even if there are no strings attached when they graduate, the scholars still receive job offers from the SM Group of Companies
The program covers the following field of studies: Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Computer, and Electronics), Education (Elementary and Secondary); Accountancy, and Financial Management, among others.
The SM College Scholarship program was founded on SM patriarch, Tatang Henry Sy, Sr.’s belief that education is the greatest equalizer. SMFI, through its Scholarship program, provides deserving and qualified students with access to college education and technical-vocational studies since 1993. To date, SMFI has produced more than 8,000 scholar-graduates.
