19 hopefuls join Mutya Ning Angeles 2023

ANGELES CITY – Nineteen Angeleña ladies make up the official candidates for this year’s prestigious Mutya Ning Angeles (MNA) pageant.

This was revealed by the MNA screening committee, which conducted the selection for the official candidates today, Sept. 7, 2023 at the Prime City Hotel.

The MNA 2023 is a project of the city government under the leadership of Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr., which will be co-presented by the Beautéderm Corporation led by President and Chief Executive Officer Rhea Anicoche-Tan.

Among the members of the screening committee are renowned designers and stylists Rosette Ramos-Biag, Frederick Policarpio, and Marlon Tuazon.

Also present during the screening and selection of the official candidates are the heads of the working committee, Chief Adviser IC Calaguas and Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel.

With them are Angeles City Tourism Officer-in-Charge Anneleen Antonio-Sugui, Angeles City Economic Development Investment and Promotions Head Irish Bonus-Llego, ACTO Consultant Cecille Flores-Sanchez, Marna Dagumboy-Del Rosario, Poklong Guina, and Gerome Esguerra.

“There were 22 applicants who attended the screening today. And all of them were very impressive. Out of the 22, the committee has chosen 19 official candidates,” Manuel said.

“We also accepted walk-in applicants earlier, as long as they were qualified and had their requirements,” Manuel added.

“We would also like to thank the Prime City Hotel, headed by the very supportive Ms. Luchie Lozano, for hosting us today. They are among the sponsors of MNA 2023,” Manuel furthered.

According to Antonio-Sugui, the candidates were from barangays Agapito Del Rosario,  Anunas, Balibago, Capaya, Cutcut, Lourdes Northwest, Lourdes Sur, Malabanias, Mining, Ninoy Aquino, Pampang, Pandan, Pulung Cacutud, San Jose, Sta. Teresita, Sta. Trinidad, Tabun.

The MNA 2023 is set on Nov. 30, 2023 at the Grand Palazzo Royale.

Currently the reigning queen of MNA is Joanne Marie Thornley of Barangay Balibago.
