2,984 more scholars receive aid from Capitol

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Some 2,984 additional scholars were given educational financial assistance by the provincial government under the leadership of Governor Dennis ‘Delta’ Pineda on Thursday, September 14.

Governor Pineda, accompanied by 2nd District Board Members Mylyn Pineda-Cayabyab and Fritzie David Dizon, led the distribution of cash aid in separate ceremonies held at Guagua National Colleges and Bren Z Guiao Convention Center.

These recipients are part of the “Educational Financial Assistance Program” (EFAP) initiated by Governor Pineda, Vice Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda, and the Sangguniang Panlalawigan. Each recipient received P4,000.

Among the recipients are 113 Aetas from the upland areas of Porac and Floridablanca.

Zenaida Imasa, a 36-year-old Aeta scholar, resident of Floridablanca  who graduated from Don Honorio Ventura State University, expressed her gratitude to the governor and vice governor, who played a vital role in supporting her education and that of her children.

Maraming-maraming salamat po sa tulong niyo po sa akin, sa aking mga kalahe, at sa aking pong mga anak.  Halos lahat din po ng  mga anak ko scholar,” said Imasa.

According to the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), a total of 14 Aeta scholars, including Zenaida, have recently graduated through the help of the program.

Governor Delta congratulated all Aeta graduates for bringing pride to their tribe.

Masaya po ako at proud po ako. Biro niyo po may mga ganito po tayong mga napagtapos po na kapatid nating Aeta,” he said.
