LUBAO, Pampanga – At least 600 dialysis patients from the 2nd District of the province each received P2,000 and food packs consisting of rice and canned goods from the provincial government on Tuesday.

Aside from the financial and food assistance, dialysis patients were also given free medical consultation and medicine at the Lubao Municipal Gym, according to Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda and Vice Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda.

Vice Governor Nanay said it is the mission of Governor Delta to bring Capitol programs closer to Kapampangan patients.

“Ginagawa po namin ito kasi gusto po ni Governor Dennis na matulungang magamot at mahanap ang lahat ng may sakit sa Pampanga. Matagal tayong natamaan ng COVID-19, maraming natakot pumunta sa ospital, kaya kami na mismo ang lumalapit ngayon sa kanila,” she explained.

Vice Governor Nanay disclosed that they would ask President BongBong Marcos to continue the support being given to dialysis patients by the government.

“Iyan ang tatrabahuin namin ngayon, kasi kawawa naman sila. Sana tuluy-tuloy, kasi yung mga talagang nagdadialysis, puro mahihirap sila, kaya naluwagan sila no’ng libre na ‘yung dialysis session,” she said.

The lady vice governor also vowed that once patients have already consumed all their free dialysis sessions with Philhealth, the provincial government will try its best to support the expenses of the patients who are spending around P12,000 weekly for dialysis sessions.

The recipients of the said assistance are among the 2,300 dialysis patients regularly supported by the provincial government.
