CSF councilor bet killed in ambush

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – The village chief of Barangay Alasas in this city was ambushed by two motorcycle-riding men early this morning.

Brig. Gen. Matthew Baccay, Police Regional Office 3 director, said councilorable Alvin Mendoza was on board an SUV from Bgy. Alasas going to Bgy. Magliman when the suspects fired shots at the vehicle. He was rushed to the hospital but later died.

Baccay, who strongly condemned the incident, ordered an immediate probe into the killing.

“We are looking into all angles to establish the possible motives. We are exerting all means to get into the bottom of this unfortunate incident,” he said.

Baccay extended condolences to the family of the victim and assured them and the public of the PRO3’s commitment for the speedy resolution of the incident.
