LUBAO, Pampanga — This town, through its employment program, was able to send 44 residents to work as seasonal farm workers in South Korea.
The workers were deployed to the city of Goryeong-gun, where its mayor Lee Nam-Cheol personally received them upon their arrival in Korea.
Before the send off, Mayor Esmeralda G. Pineda reminded the workers of their obligation to the company they will work with as well as to their respective families, asking them to follow South Korean immigration and labor laws for them to secure their jobs in the Korean peninsula.
She also told the workers not to violate any Korean laws and instead report to her concerns about their employment in South Korea.
“Magpasalamat ya pu ing Balen ning Lubao, king Guinu uling miras lang mapayapa at ligtas deng 44 tamung kabalen a seasonal workers keng South Korea,” Mayor Pineda said.
The town executive also expressed gratitude to the province, headed by Gov. Dennis Pineda, for supporting the municipal government in this employment program. The governor dispatched the bus that ferried the workers from Lubao to the airport.
