CAMP OLIVAS — A 41-year-old man was arrested in Bulacan for allegedly soliciting financial assistance for beneficiaries of DSWD Region 3 using the Office of the Vice President.
PRO3 acting director Brig. Gen. Cesar Pasiwen identified the suspect as Joel Calis with aliases John Carlos Lo and JC Lo, single, vice president of RNA Foundation Philippines, Inc. and presently residing at General Tirona St., Bgy. 138, Caloocan City.
Calis, who was wearing a blue polo shirt with embroidered logo of the Office of the President of the Republic of the Philippines, was apprehended by operatives of City of San Jose Del Monte police after a call was received from the Office of the City Mayor that the suspect introduced himself as a staff from the Office of the Vice President. When verified, it was found out he is not in any way connected with the Office of the Vice President.
“May this serve as a warning to all who dare to use any government agency or use the names of any high-ranking public or PNP officials for any illegal purpose as they will never get away from the long arm of the law,”Pasiwen said.
