ANGELES CITY — The Mutya Ning Angeles 2022 candidates will represent their respective barangays through costumes using creative materials — indigenous, recyclable, among others— during the Parade of Beautés on Oct. 15, 2022, 4 PM, at the SM City Clark event center.
Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. said the “Parade of Beautés”, with a theme “The Best of the Barangays”, will be an avenue to introduce the rich culture and history of Angeles City.
Reina Manuel, Executive Assistant IV, also the Chairperson of the MNA 2022 Organizing Committee, further said that it will be a parade not just of the beauty of the candidates but also the creations of the local designers.
Manuel also explained that the local costume competition is part of the 25% overall score for the coronation night. Its criteria are as follows: 40% for the creativity and design; 20% for construction; 20% for functionality and wearability; and 20% for innovation.
The MNA 2022, co-presented by Beautéderm Corporation, will hold its coronation night on Dec. 8, 2022 at the Grand Palazzo Royale.
City Tourism Officer-in-Charge Anneleen Antonio-Sugui meanwhile is inviting her kababayans to watch and support the “Parade of Beautés” and their barangay’s candidates.
“This will be a competition for the best local costume where the grand winner will receive ₱100,000 from The Clouds Bar and The Grounds,” Antonio-Sugui said.
Lazatin also thanked SM City Clark for being a partner of the MNA 2022 with this event.
“Thank you SM City Clark for being our major sponsor in the competition,” Lazatin claimed.
To recall, the MNA 2022 Organizing Committee led by Manuel and Chief Adviser IC Calaguas on Sept. 30, 2022 recently had a coordination meeting with the Marketing Team of the SM City Clark for the said local costume parade competition.
Calaguas said the city is very proud to host the upcoming local parade competition, giving spotlight to the best offers of the barangays.
